Disneyland

On Tuesday we left for our Disneyland trip.  Casey ended up working a half day, so we decided to drive as far as Vegas, stay the night, then continue to California the next morning.  I don't know why, but the drive seemed to take forever.  We drove our car to save money on gas (a good choice-4 tanks for the whole trip!!!)  I think I'm used to the comfort and roominess of the truck because the car didn't seem as comfy.  We had plenty of things to keep Caleb entertained, but he wanted to play hide and seek (his new favorite game).  I know, how do you do that in a car in a car seat.  Well, he showed me how.

We stayed at the Stratosphere because it was cheap and we were just there to sleep.  We took Caleb to the top.  He thought that was pretty cool.  He thought that the luggage rack was a little bed just for him.  He didn't sleep on it, but he layed on it for a long time.

When we got to California, we still had a few hours before we could check into the hotel, so we went to Huntington Beach.  Caleb has been asking to go to the beach ever since we went to Lake Powell.  He loved the beach.  We built sand castles, collected sea shells, and ran in and out of the ocean.  I had as much fun as he did.  It was so nice to be in warm weather and near the ocean.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday we spent all day in Disneyland and California Adventures.  Caleb thought it was so cool that we got to ride the shuttle there.  He called it a school bus. 

We saw most of the characters (except the princesses) including tinkerbell.  I think Caleb had a crush on her.  He just stared and smiled at her while acting bashful.  He didn't act that way with the others it was funny.

He loved the rides.  His favorite was the Buzz Lightyear ride shooting the bad guys.  He also loved toon town.  Played there for hours.

This was my first time in California Adventures.  I loved it.  Casey and I even went on some of the bigger rides while my brother in law and sister in law watched Caleb.  I loved the roller coaster, it was awesome. We took Caleb on the Farris Wheel.  Some of the gondolas swing and we went on the swinging one.  It was pretty intense/fun for us but not Caleb, he got scared.  Caleb liked the monsters inc ride and all of the rides in a bugs land.  The rides there were so cute and the lines were short, so we could ride them over and over.  It was hard for Caleb to stand in line, he didn't understand that he had to wait.

Sunday we woke up at 3:30am (yes, we are crazy) to drive home all day.  Besides Casey and I being exhausted, it was great because Caleb slept til we got to Vegas and then had a 1 1/2 hour nap after St. George.  I think it made it way easier on him to be in the car that long and we got to keep our sanity. Caleb was so sad when he realized we were going home.  It was an awesome trip.  It was so much fun as a parent to see your child light up with excitment and have so much fun.  We can't wait to go back.
