On Wednesday, last week, we decided to head to Lake Powell for a few days. Our original plan was to wake up at 5 or 6 and get an early start. What ended up happening was we didn't get out of bed til 8:30. By the time we got everything loaded and went back to the house about 5 times to get stuff that we forgot, we finally got on the road at 11:30. Everytime we travel I'm always amazed at how well Caleb does. He is such a good traveler. We made it to Powell at about 5:30pm, checked into our room at the lodge at bullfrog, and got the boat on the lake. There were ducks that would hang out by the boat. While Casey and Caleb would wait for me to park the truck(yes, I drove the truck and trailer, scary!) we would let Caleb feed the ducks a slice of bread. He kept calling them his ducks.
We got to a spot and stopped so that Caleb could get in the water. It was a cold 69 degrees and he didn't like it, so we didn't spend too much time in the water this trip.
The next day we spent the whole day on the lake. Caleb liked to put a swim noodle in the water and would say he was fishing.
We found a beach to let Caleb play on with his shovels and buckets. He enjoyed making footprints and sand castles. We had lunch and then drove around some more while Caleb took a long nap.
The next day we did some more driving around. Caleb kept telling us that things were "amazin." When we first got on the boat, he stood on the cooler, put one arm in the air and said, "trim the sails!" He's been saying the funniest things lately.
We found another beach where we played and had lunch. After that we decided we better head home before it got any later.
In Spanish Fork Canyon, they have a new rest stop with a train and train tracks. Caleb was so excited to see the train and walk on the tracks. We'll have to stop again sometime when it's light.
